Senator Chuck Grassley Proves His Word Is Too Weak To Stand By As He Gives Ford More Time

The best writers for General Hospital and Law and Order SVU could not come up with a plot line this good. A woman who before last Sunday almost all of America had never heard of before has become the most powerful woman in the country. Christine Blasey Ford has managed to keep the attention of America on herself for longer than the standard 15 minutes of fame that most people try to gain. While doing this she has also managed to bring what should have been the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court to a halt and keep it there. As though causing the vote that would almost certainly see Judge Brett Kavanaugh confirmed to the Supreme Court to be delayed was not enough she has managed to make members of the weak as she has received five different extensions while getting to decide whether or not she wishes to testify in front of the senate.

Judiciary Senate committee chairman Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa sent out several tweets Friday night that read:

“Five times now we hv granted extension for Dr. Ford to decide if she wants to proceed w her desire stated one wk ago that she wants to tell the senate her story Dr Ford if u changed ur mind say so so we can move on I want to hear ur testimony. Come to us or we to u.”

After this post he sent out another one approximately fifteen minutes later that was aimed at Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Judiciary Senate committee chairman Chuck Grassley apologized for his weakness and indecisiveness as he tried to explain that he normally is not so indecisive and appealed to Judge Brett Kavanaugh to be understanding under the circumstances. He tweeted, “Judge Kavanaugh I just granted another extension to Dr Ford to decide if she wants to proceed w the statement she made last week to testify to the senate She shld decide so we can move on I want to hear her. I hope u understand. It’s not my normal approach to b indecisive.”

This kind of weakness in a man who calls himself a conservative is inexcusable and difficult to understand. We should expect more from those who represent us, but the posts from Senator Chuck Grassley did not stop there. They continued and not only did they continue but they grew even worse, because he even addressed his own weakness and criticized himself. Thirteen minutes after his tweet that was aimed at Judge Brett Kavanaugh the chairman tweeted, “With all the extensions we give Dr Ford to decide if she still wants to testify to the Senate I feel like I’m playing 2nd trombone in the judiciary orchestra and Schumer is the conductor.”

This last week has been filled with intense negotiations going back and forth between the Judiciary Senate committee and the lawyers who are representing Christine Blasey Ford. This is the woman who remained a secret weapon for Democrats until last Thursday, one week before the confirmation vote that would put Judge Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court was supposed to take place. There is no other way than to see this as a political game and while I can only speculate at this point in time it would not surprise me if some of those same Democrats are playing coach as they secretly pull the strings on Christine Blasey Ford telling her how to deal with Judiciary Senate committee chairman Chuck Grassley and the other Republicans. She deliberately missed the 10:00 p.m. deadline that Grassley placed upon her and instead of being a man with backbone who stands by his word he rewarded her with another extension.

The demand from Christine Blasey Ford’s team that stated they wanted more time came in the form of a letter from her attorney, Debra Katz. The letter from Christine Blasey Ford’s attorney accuse the Judiciary committee of placing Christine Blasey Ford under more stress and causing her to feel anxiety over their aggressive and artificial deadlines. The only reason that the deadlines are not real is because Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa has clearly demonstrated that he lacks the strength and character to stand by his word and allow the vote that would place Judge Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court to move forward.

How can we be expected to believe that the most recent deadline that Christine Blasey Ford has been given is anymore real than the last one?
