Laura Ingraham in the hot seat after agreeing with Democrat Ocasio-Cortez

The spotlight is something that isn’t anything new to Fox News host Laura Ingraham. However, after Wednesday Laura Ingraham has found herself in the spotlight once more and found herself the target of criticism. On Wednesday Ingram claimed that the America we know and love does not exist anymore, because of demographic changes that she sees both legal and illegal immigrants being responsible for. The Fox News host was simply responding to comments from up and coming Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. In a recent podcast interview that she took part in Ocasio-Cortez expressed sentiment that the country has changed over the past few decades including the fall of the upper middle class.

Laura Ingraham derided the comments that had been made by Ocasio-Cortez during the podcast interview before she acknowledged that she feels Ocasio-Cortez is right in a general sense. Ingraham said, “in some parts of the country it does seem like the America we know and love doesn’t exist anymore. Massive demographic changes have been foisted upon the American people. And they’re changes that none of us ever voted for and most of us don’t like. Now much of this is related to both illegal and, in some cases, legal immigration that of course progressives love.”

She pointed out how the Democrats oppose enforcing immigration laws and send a message to those who would enter our country illegally that they are not welcomed here. Instead of protecting the country Ingraham feels that the Democrats refusal to enforce immigration laws is one of the biggest things that is harming our country today. She has championed the idea of improved border security, bringing an end to sanctuary city policies, and the closure of immigration loopholes.

On her show Wednesday Laura Ingraham said, “remember the old Democrats – maybe some of them Ocasio-Cortez is referring to – they used to think that borders mattered. But the new activists believe enforcing immigration laws is essentially an ongoing human rights violation.”

It did not take a long time after Laura Ingraham’s comments for her to find herself the targets of white nationalism accusations once her comments went viral on social media.

Ever since President Trump took office he has made cracking down on immigration a cornerstone of his administration. It is not any great secret that America has some of the worst immigration policies in the world and President Trump knows it. It is this reason that he has pressed Congress to pass stricter laws when it comes to immigration. Despite backlash from the liberals President Trump has tried to do everything he can to make America a better place including his infamous zero tolerance policy when it comes to our nations borders. The policy saw those who entered our country illegally treated like any other criminal that breaks our laws and liberals didn’t like it. Liberals and social justice warriors targeted President Trump and his administration calling his policy inhumane and a violation of human rights.

Despite how unpopular her view  may be Laura Ingraham praised President Trump in her remarks for bringing out uncomfortable truths about the country. She said that it is time for congress to take action when it comes to immigration and she’s absolutely right.

Laura Ingraham said, “the president can be so persuasive, so give us the whole truth, Mr. President, the good, the bad, and yes the uncomfortable. This is a national emergency, and he must demand that Congress act now. There is something slipping away in this country, and it’s not about race or ethnicity. It’s what was once a common understanding by both parties that American citizenship is a privilege, and one that at a minimum requires respect for the rule of law and loyalty to our constitution.”
