Will Former Vice President Joe Biden Try To Run For President In 2020?

Will Joe Biden run for President of the United States in 2020? This is a million dollar question that only one person can truly answer. That person is Joe Biden himself. The former vice president has given himself a little less than half a year to make that decision as he announced on Tuesday that America would know his answer by January. During a recent visit to Bogota, Columbia the former vice president discussed politics, President Trump, and the 2020 election while he spoke at a forum. He informed CNN personality Juan Carlos Lopez that although the current polls show that he may have a chance at beating President Trump in the next election the numbers may not actually mean anything.

Former vice president Joe Biden said, “I know I have to make up my mind and I have to do it by January”

After the mid-term elections in November he will hold an “altar call” and try to determine whether or not he believes that a presidential campaign run would be successfully both in terms of money as well as the American people supporting him.

Last month a poll that was ran showed that the former vice president was an early front runner for the Democratic ticket beating out such big names as Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren. Biden was the choice of 32 percent of the Democrats in a Harvard CAPS/Harris June poll.

The former vice president took advantage of Tuesdays forum to publicly criticize comments that current president of the United States Donald Trump made at a press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the press conference that featured the two presidents it seemed as though President Trump believes President Putin when he says that Russia did not interfere with the 2016 election. In regards to the press conference Joe Biden said, “I think the press conference was beneath the office of the president And I think it did us great damage internationally.” To a thunderous applause he continued his criticism of President Trump when he said that he had not seen such behavior from a president of the United States on an international forum that diminishes the United States. He publicly placed his support behind the Republican lawmakers who have tried to place distance between themselves and President Trump ever since the news conference.

With the upcoming mid-term elections coming up in November followed by the next presidential election in 2020 I think it is pretty safe to say that coming out of the Democrat party Joe Biden is definitely a man that I and the rest of America need to keep our eyes on between now and January while we try to learn as much about the former vice president as we can.
