“Islam is a religion of peace.”
On the 16th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, there isn’t a phrase out there more infuriating to me than this one. We need to remember, as a nation, why we declared war on the ideology of Islam. We need to remember why this political ideology is toxic to any society it comes in contact with. We need to remember the lives lost at the hands of millions of Islamic jihadists across the globe. We need to remember that Islam actively clashes with Western values and threatens the very ideal it claims to champion: peace.
This morning I tweeted out a quote from the beautiful Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and I immediately stirred up a proverbial “shitstorm” on Twitter as a result. Several Islamic apologists arrived at the scene to do damage control on Islam’s behalf, quick to claim that the 9/11 terrorists were “traitors to their own faith,” that I was being a hateful bigot and a “racist” (because Islam is totally a race) and “if Islam is so violent, why are the millions of Muslims in the United States so peaceful?”

So let’s clear up the controversy here and set the record straight. For the 1,938,574th time.
The terrorists are not “hijacking Islam.” They are practicing the ideology the way it was meant to be practiced.
The founding of Islam is credited to its prophet, Muhammad, who, during the course of his lifetime, had people killed for insulting him, for criticizing his “religion,” or for hindering the expansion of his political ideology. I use quotes over “religion” because the following Muhammad accrued exhibited characteristics more closely aligned with a cult than a religion. His followers were blind, either foolishly gullible or financially invested in his pursuits and thus accepting of his exploits. Muslims are taught to emulate the example Muhammad sets for them, as he is a “beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah” (Qur’an 33:21). This basic tenant of Islam is stated in the Qur’an no less than 91 times. I kid you not.
The Qur’an itself does not explicitly teach one how to be a Muslim. You will not find a single one of the five pillars in the Qur’an.
But in the chronologies of Muhammad, you will find their prophet calling for Muslims to wage war on other religions and bring them into submission to Islam. You will find him encouraging his men to behead captives, enslave children, and rape women. You will find him justifying his actions because he was “ordered by Allah to fight men until they testify that there is no god but Allah.”
The only way Muslims know how to practice their religion effectively is by adhering to the example Muhammad sets for them. So, those millions of “peaceful” Muslims in the United States? They are not true Muslims. By definition, those who do not emulate the Muhammad preserved by history and actively practice his behaviors are not truly Muslim. Now, if they still identify that way, as a “Muslim,” this doesn’t absolve them of guilt because they aren’t extremists. In reality, it actually makes them all the more complicit for not stopping the terrorists or at the very least, actively condemning them.
Where are they? Where is their outrage every time an Islamic extremist blows up a train or an airport or plows through a crowd of people on Christmas Day? They will immediately push hashtags condemning Islamophobia, but will never condemn those who actually committed the act of terrorism. These “fake” Muslims have merely become a political shield for the jihadists to hide behind.
Those terrorists, who kill in the name of Allah just as Muhammad did? THEY are the true followers of Islam, because they follow the example their “prophet” set for them.
They are the ones who continue Islam’s 1400-year jihad against Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, and Buddhism, a bloody expansion that has only been kept in check by the ability of non-Muslims to defend themselves. None of these other religions are at war with each other, but they are all at war with Islam. Wonder why that is?
Islam is NOT a religion of peace. It never has been, and it never will be.
Within the last ten years alone, over 18,000 terror attacks have been committed explicitly in the name of Islam. When you compare that to other major religions, this is nearly 1,500 times as many attacks committed in the names of Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Judaism combined.
Not once does the Qur’an speak of Allah’s love for non-Muslims, but I could spend hours outlining the hundreds of verses in the Qur’an that speak of Allah’s cruelty toward nonbelievers and his vehement hatred of them.
Islam spread through cruelty and oppression. Millions of innocent lives have been claimed in its name.
So while you remember the lives lost during the September 11th attacks, remember the ideology that put us here. Remember the ideology that is responsible for the deaths of millions of people, that is responsible for Europe’s imminent collapse, that is responsible for infiltrating our own culture and is slowly trying to destroy it from the inside.
Remember the ideology that did this to us.
Never Forget. Ever.
